EmpowerCanvas: Cultivating Resilience in At-Risk Youth through Art and Mindfulness

“EmpowerCanvas” aims to establish a supportive and inclusive framework designed to uplift at-risk youth navigating socio-economic and cultural challenges.

Our Objectives

To foster engagement among at-risk youth through mindful art activities and mindfulness resources, promoting emotional well-being and resilience for personal and professional development

To collaborate with at-risk youth centers and community organizations to host participatory visits, conduct workshops, and reach a diverse audience of at-risk youth

To conceptualize and create a resilience-building board game that integrates art activities and mindfulness practices

To develop an online platform providing youth workers with tools and resources to build resilience in at-risk youth through art and mindfulness

To organize participatory visits in Portugal to gain insights and enhance engagement

To conduct three workshops aimed at training youth workers on effectively utilizing the platform and board game

Expected Outcomes

Online Platform

An online platform offering a comprehensive and user-friendly framework to foster resilience in at-risk youth through art and mindfulness practices

Board Game

A complementary board game designed as an engaging, interactive resource to help youth workers facilitate meaningful discussions and activities with at-risk youth during in-person sessions

Workshops

Three workshops to train 45 youth workers and educators on effectively incorporating the online platform and board game into their support programs

Participatory visit in Portugal

A two-day participatory visit in Portugal with 10 participants to exchange insights and experiences

Pilot Program

A pilot program to test and refine the platform and board game with at-risk youth
