Empower Canvas (EmpowerCanvas: Cultivating Resilience in At-Risk Youth through Art and Mindfulness) was an Erasmus+ KA210 small-scale partnership (project number 2023-3-PT02-KA210-YOU-000176401) coordinated by ARTE M Associação Cultural e Artística na Madeira. Highlights e.V. participated as a partner.
The project aimed to build a supportive framework for at-risk youth facing socio-economic and cultural challenges. Planned and delivered outputs described publicly include an online platform for youth workers, the Journey to Resilience board game combining art and mindfulness, participatory visits (including Madeira, January 2025), youth worker workshops (three workshops aimed at training 45 youth workers and educators), and a local pilot workshop in Erlangen (11 July 2025, 16 participants). Selected durable third-party references are linked under Project Resources; thin newsletter posts were merged rather than republished as separate pages.
Legacy placeholder testimonials were not migrated. Where the old page used “aims” and “expected outcomes” language, this entry keeps application-style framing rather than treating every target as a verified delivery result.
Partners designed a user-friendly online framework (ARTMIND) to help youth workers foster resilience through art and mindfulness.
Partners developed Journey to Resilience, a board game for at-risk youth that combines art, mindfulness, and teamwork to support self-expression, problem-solving, and emotional regulation in workshops, schools, and youth centres.
The partnership kicked off in July 2024 and held a participatory visit in Madeira in January 2025 for peer review and tool development exchange (legacy newsletters also reference a related ARTMIND participatory visit page on theartmind.eu).
Three workshops were planned to train youth workers and educators on using the platform and board game in support programmes.
On 11 July 2025, Highlights hosted a local pilot in Erlangen’s open gardens with 16 participants, combining a shared picnic with the Resilience Board Game and prompts on experiences and emotions.
