Practical green skills
The exchange is designed so participants leave with hands-on experience of upcycling, recycling, and waste separation, not only a discussion of environmental issues.
Ongoing · Coming soon
ReYouth is an Erasmus+ youth exchange coordinated by Highlights e.V. with Sonríe a Europa (Spain), EduMansha (Portugal), Logos Polska (Poland), and International Volda (Norway). It is designed to help young people move from concern about waste and consumption toward practical skills they can use at home. Dates are coming soon.
The planned mobility is in Maspalomas, Gran Canaria: a six-day programme with two travel days. Five national groups are planned, with five participants aged 18–30 and one group leader from each country. The activity form also names two facilitators. Young people with fewer opportunities are a stated priority, including rural youth, unemployed young adults, young people facing economic obstacles, and participants with migrant or refugee backgrounds. Motivation matters more than prior environmental expertise.
Learning is planned as non-formal education: mixed-national teamwork, upcycling and paper-recycling workshops, waste-sorting practice, a study visit with a local recycling organisation in Gran Canaria, and daily reflection linked to Youthpass. During the exchange, teams are expected to draft a digital booklet, Green Habits Across Europe, and environmental awareness videos, then prepare local eco-workshops afterwards. These activities and outputs are what the application sets out to do. They are not reported here as already delivered.
Before the exchange, national groups are planned to meet online, share sustainable practices from their countries, and contribute ideas for the booklet Green Habits Across Europe.
A six-day programme in Maspalomas, Gran Canaria, is planned, with two travel days outside the programme days. Dates are coming soon. It moves from group building and circular-economy introductions to hands-on work.
Participants are expected to upcycle clothing, make recycled paper for personal learning diaries, and practise waste sorting and more sustainable consumption habits.
A visit to a local recycling organisation is planned so the group can see waste management in an island region shaped by tourism.
Mixed-national teams are planned to draft the digital booklet Green Habits Across Europe, environmental awareness videos, and mini action plans for local use.
Daily reflection, including diaries made from the recycled paper, is planned so participants can recognise learning. Youthpass is the certificate the application intends to use.
After the mobility, each national group is expected to run at least one eco-workshop or awareness activity at home and to stay in touch through online follow-up meetings.
Young people aged 18–30 from Germany, Spain, Poland, Portugal, and Norway, including young people with fewer opportunities. Group leaders are planned to be 21 or over and experienced in youth work. No advanced environmental knowledge is required.
The exchange is designed so participants leave with hands-on experience of upcycling, recycling, and waste separation, not only a discussion of environmental issues.
A digital booklet of sustainable habits from the participating countries is a planned co-created output. It is not published yet.
Environmental awareness videos are planned as a second shared output from the exchange.
Each national group is expected to adapt the learning into at least one workshop or awareness activity after returning home.
The activity plan includes young people with fewer opportunities, including rural youth, unemployed young adults, young people facing economic obstacles, and participants with migrant or refugee backgrounds.
