About this exchange
Living with different (DIS)abilities: We are all equal was an Erasmus+ KA152 youth exchange coordinated by Highlights e.V. with International Youth Environment Sport and Development Association (IYESDA) in Türkiye. From 20–29 January 2024, 60 young people from Germany, North Macedonia, Türkiye, Romania, and Bulgaria gathered in Silivri, Istanbul for intercultural cooperation of young people with and without disabilities.
The exchange aimed to encourage participants to work and learn together, create a safe space for free interaction, and address stereotypes, prejudices, and sensitivity around disability.
What we set out to achieve

Planned activities
Intercultural cooperation
Sixty young people from Germany, North Macedonia, Türkiye, Romania, and Bulgaria gathered for shared non-formal learning.
Inclusive group learning
Participants worked together across ability backgrounds to build understanding and cooperation.
Awareness around disability
Programme activities addressed stereotypes, prejudice, and more sensitive approaches to disability.
